The food industry is flawed and corrupt. It consists mostly of a few multinational corporations (Examples; Monsanto, Nestle, Unilever, Kraft, PepsiCo, Coca Cola, JBS, Tyson) who control everything - Corn, Wheat, Soybeans, Beef, Pork, Chicken, etc. Everything from production, packaging and distribution, to when it lands on your plate – diversity in the companies who create our food is an illusion.

Food Companies & Corporations

The problem is that these corporations are controlled by the beast within.

They exploit people in poorer countries, buying large amounts of food for miniscule prices, owning large amounts of land and having the people slave on their farms for wages which barely help the workers feed their family. Food has often been exchanged for weapons.

Most of the food is created using extremely wasteful and polluting methods which damage the environment so that our growing dependence and demand on these corporations can be quickly satisfied. The result is unhealthy, unreliable food. There has been a huge increase in the number of fatal infections and viruses transmitted from these foods, especially GMOs and factory meat, but these corporations continuously lobby the government so that laws do not change.

We are eating food-like products, not food.

By buying the products that these multinational corporations bring to us, we also put local farmers out of business, who are left with no choice but to work for corporations. Thus, we contribute to this cycle and we become extremely dependent on a fragile yet aggressive system which cannot continue doing what it is doing for much longer. To restore balance, we need to not only consume locally, but produce locally.

What we now must do is grow our own food and buy locally grown food.

Buy organic vegetables and fruits, ideally produced locally. It may be more expensive, but it tastes much better and is much better for your health. Some people are kind of victims of the system and cannot afford to eat healthy. This is a major problem that has to change fast, but a lot of people just waste their money on unnecessary things, such as tobacco, alcohol, drugs, the latest phone, expensive cars that consume a lot of oil, etc. Instead of buying toys you don't need, buy better food.

The key is to start growing your own food and to buy local. The political voting system is a corrupt scam, but voting with every dollar you spend really counts.

You can grow food indoors and outdoors, vegetables, herbs, fruits, starches, etc. There are different foods adapted for different seasons in different parts of the world. Take the initiative, do some research on what you can grow where you are. There will no doubt be some mistakes at first, that is to be expected, but don't let it stop you. It doesn't take long to learn and just requires a short amount of careful attention each day. It's worth it. Growing a garden or a mini-farm helps you stay healthy, keeps you in touch with nature, life and the cycles of the earth, and can be very spiritually fulfilling.

Gardening is rebelling.

Talk with your neighbors so that you don't plant same things, and trade with them. Look for community gardens in your area. There are solutions to grow food indoors if you live in cities (search the internet).

Here is a video that is even harder to watch: Factory Farm Animal Cruelty

“He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealins with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.” - Immanuel Kant

“If slaughterhouses had glass walls, we would all be vegetarian.” - Paul McCartney

It is obvious that our treatment of animals is holding us back spiritually. If we act like animals, violently kill and eat animals, we are only perpetuating the dog-eat-dog world that we have had to suffer and evolve in for millions of years. We have to discontinue what perpetuates pain, fear and suffering, or we will have to live in a world ruled by controlling animal instincts which are the roots of greed and ignorance.

As it says in The Present on page 2: "Many people think human beings are the only animal that is conscious. Is a dog or cat conscious? Where do you draw the line? Is a bird conscious? The truth is that all animal life is conscious and alive just like us. The only thing that makes humans different from other animals is that we have a mind that can think and reason at a high enough level to know the truth of life, and those that know rise above animals."

In that linked video above, it says at the end to switch to a vegan diet. We do not need to eat as much meat and fish. Actually, we do not need to consume it at all to survive. We are wasting much water and energy into raising and slaughtering farm animals.

Eating Animals Destroys The Planet - Water Use of Animals Could Grow Crops to Feed All

All the energy wasted on our predatory craving for meat is outrageous. What makes it even worse is how the corporations monopolize mass meat production, resulting in horrifying farming practices that demoralize humanity and bring us down spiritually. Major amounts of GMO crops go into animal feed. The whole process is disgusting. We are farming and killing those living beings in terrible conditions. It is does not make sense. "Treat others as you would like them to treat you" applies to every living being.

Not eating meat is taking a step away from the animal realm.

Many people cannot afford or are not adapted to a fully plant based diet. It is more important to seek and spread the truth of life than it is to do anything else, but taking steps in your life, like going vegetarian or vegan, getting a dog, etc., can help you feel better, balance mind, body and spirit, and enable you to re-connect with life.
